On a crisp April night, the vibrant energy of the indie rock and post-hardcore music scene united at Roadrunner in Boston as Movements and Tigers Jaw took the stage, delivering passionate and energetic performances that had the audience buzzing with excitement. French alternative rock band Paerish and Webbed Wing kicked off the night, giving the crowd just a taste of what was coming.
Tigers Jaw wasted no time diving into their eclectic blend of indie rock and emo melodies. The band’s infectious energy and raw emotions quickly set the tone for the night. The band’s vocalists, Ben Walsh and Brianna Collins effortlessly traded heartfelt lyrics, their voices intertwining in a harmonious dance.
As Tigers Jaw’s set came to a close the venue was vibrating with anticipation eagerly waiting for Movements arrival. When the moment finally arrived, the band burst onto stage with an electrifying energy that captured the crowd’s attention immediately. Lead vocalist, Patrick Miranda’s, raw emotion and powerful delivery drew the crowd into a mesmerizing musical journey.
Movements played a 14 song set including songs from their latest album as well as some fan favorites. They started off strong with their track, “Lead Pipe,” with the crowd absolutely losing themselves and being present in the moment. They played the well loved tracks, “Full Circle” and “Colorblind” back to back and slowed it down a little with “Seneca.” The most important part of their set came at the end, however, when Patrick dedicated their beloved song,”Daylily,” to a friend who used to always attend their shows in Boston. You could feel the raw emotions radiating from every single person in the audience while we all sang along with Patrick. It was a moment that truly encapsulated the power of music and its ability to bring everyone together.
