The new music collective from 88rising, 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE, drop their latest single, “silence sTArEs me down,” featuring Rich Brian and Cuco. The song, co-produced by Rich Brian, provides another chapter in 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE’s lore of 90’s era SoCal culture through the lens of childhood nostalgia and wonder.
The powerhouse that is Rich Brian mixed with indie pop singer-songwriter and producer, Cuco, brings us the perfect combination of flowy rhythm and mellow vibes in “silence sTArEs me down.” Brian and Cuco compliment each other well with laid back vocals and heavy hitting bars. Bringing yet another magical track to the collective.
Last month, 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE debuted with the single, “MiNt ChOcHoLaTe,” featuring Toronto based instrumental group, BADBADNOTGOOD and Griselda rappers, Westside Gunn and Conway the Machine. The collective’s second single, “rUN tHE FaDE,” with alt singer-songwriter Eyedress was released earlier this month followed by, “LiGhT rAiLs,” featuring Rich Brian and Rick Ross. Last week they released their fourth single, “SLOPES,” with Warren Hue and Offset along with a fun music video of the duo passing triplet flows and boastful lyrics back and forth out in the snow while recreating the act of them skiing on a mountain.
The future’s looking bright for 88rising’s new collective and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
