On May 15th, 2024, Colorado Springs was treated to an unforgettable night as X Ambassadors graced the stage of the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs, CO as part of their Townie Tour. The evening kicked off with captivating performances by two stellar openers, Rowan Drake and New West, who set the perfect tone with their sensational sets, igniting the crowd’s excitement for the main event.
As the anticipation peaked, the stage was set for an unforgettable evening of music. As the lights dimmed and the crowd erupted into cheers, it was clear that this would be a night to remember. From the moment they took the stage, X Ambassadors locked in the attention with their infectious energy. Frontman Sam Harris’s soulful vocals soared across the venue, captivating audiences. Accompanied by his brother Casey Harris’s masterful keyboard skills, Adam Levin’s powerful percussion, and Russ Flynns rhythmic guitar and bass notes the band revealed hits that kept the crowd on their feet from start to finish.
Songs like “Renegades” and “Unsteady” elicited thunderous applause, as fans sang along with fervor to every word. Meanwhile, tracks from their latest album, Townie ,showcased maturity and depth, further solidifying X Ambassadors’ status as musical icons. During the set, Sam had taken a pause to talk about their song “Your Town” off of the Townie album and how this song was dedicated to his teacher Todd Peterson who had passed away in 2021. He was the first person to get him up on stage and sing in front of a crowd. But for years he would bug Sam about not calling or texting more. The last time he heard his voice before passing was in a voicemail he left him about a new song, so he decided to put it at the end of “Your Town” to showcase the undying love he felt for him.
To end off the night, X Ambassadors played two encore songs “BOOM” and “Jungle” ending the night in a roaring applause. Whether delivering anthemic choruses or intimate ballads, the band’s versatility was on full display this evening, captivating listeners with their emotive storytelling and raw honesty.
