This week, J-Pop sensation, Travis Japan, released their highly anticipated 5th single “Sweetest Tune” along with a music video ahead of their very first overseas concert tour, spanning Taipei, Hong Kong, Bangkok and the United States. Fans in the United States are in for a real treat as three of the six tour stops are US cities!
Guaranteed to be a fan favorite on the upcoming fall tour, “Sweetest Tune” stays true to the group’s pop-influenced sound showcasing upbeat melodies, lively rhythms, and harmonized vocals – combining English and Japanese lyrics. The song serves as an ode to a love interest as the group totes, “One thing I can say for sure is that I’m addicted to you.“
“Sweetest Tune” has already secured placement in the hit Japanese TV drama “Tokyo Tower,” starring Genta Matsuda of Travis Japan. The electric track weaves seamlessly into the emotional dynamic of the series’ exploration of the intricate dynamics of love, with Genta portraying Koji Ohara, a character entangled in his own romantic journey.
Reflecting on the essence of “Sweetest Tune,” the band shares, “… It is a pop tune giving off a feeling of maturity. The choreo to this song is both technical and catchy, with a music video based on a comic storyline that includes some shared house-like scenes in addition to dance.”
The accompanying music video did not disappoint. Filled with bright colors, energetic choreography, and their signature playfulness, Travis Japan gives viewers a glimpse into the nature of the seven members sharing a home – featuring pizza, board games, water guns, pillow fights, and chores, as the video flashes between playful house scenes and dynamic choreo scenes.
The release of “Sweetest Tunes” marks the group’s 5th single. Prior to the release of “Sweetest Tunes”, Travis Japan ignited fans with “T.G.I. Friday Night,” a bass-filled, funky dance record released earlier this year.
This fall, fans across Asia and the United States will have the chance to see Travis Japan in Taipei, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York City on the “Road To A” world tour. More information and tickets can be found here.
