The Used Bring the Chaos Back to Boston

Twenty five years later, The Used are still screaming and belting their hearts out – on night 3 of 3 at the House of Blues Boston on April 12, 2025 they proved that time had only sharpened their edge. As a part of their anniversary tour the band gave their fans a treat: three nights of front-to-back performances of their first three albums, The Used, In Love and Death and Lies for the Liars.

From the first eerie notes of “The Ripper,” the crowd erupted. Right away the band was tight, explosive and as theatrical as ever. Bert, Jeph, Dan and Joey together turned tracks like, “Pretty Handsome Awkward,” and “Liar Liar (Burn in Hell),” into sonic wrecking  balls, with the crowd screaming every word back at them.

What made this show more than just a nostalgic trip was how new it felt. The Used didn’t just revisit Lies For the Liars, they reinhabited it, bringing new dimension to songs that defined a generation of emo kids, many of whom are grown and reliving the angst in the crowd with just as much passion.

The Used rolled up with fire that only 25 years of music and mayhem can build. Continuously reminding us why they’re still here and relevant after so many years. If you get a chance to attend either of their anniversary shows, do yourself a favor and go and experience the nostalgia and chaos.
