Sega Bodega has released their new track “True” ahead of their new album Dennis, which released last Friday. The track “True” is a mixture of versatile sounds and feelings that carry you throughout the song from start to finish. Featuring fast paced high hats, and angelic choir vocals, the track brings its listeners a transcending and cinematic feeling.
The track starts off with Sega Bodega singing higher pitch soft vocals, with a melancholy synth to accompany thigs before moving into a bouncy bass that changes the tone of the song. The song touches on the themes of staying righteous to yourself, despite the temptations of evil. The tracks lyrics go over the themes of the story of Adam and Eve, and the betrayal of eating the apple.
“Bring you to the orchard where we snack in extremes, apples are for those who wanna dream. Taste what you could have if you chose never to wake”.
The song also dives into topics about doing things when you have the chances to do so, and never missing opportunities that you should be taking. When we all do eventually meet our ultimate ends, we shouldn’t regret the things we didn’t do, but appreciate the things we did, by taking those risks. Again, this topic is prominent later into the song with the lyric “Tell me was that everything you wanted to say?” Reiterating that you should always speak your mind and be true to yourself and live without regrets.
“True” will be available along with 10 other tracks when Sega Bodega’s newest Dennis drops April 26th.
