Ruby Da Cherry, the half duo of $uicideboy$, debuts his second EP ‘existential hymns for
the average sigma (vol. 9)’ under his alias DUCKBOY. DUCKBOY as Ruby describes it is “a symbol of “ducking” past life’s trials and distractions”, which serves as a reflection of Ruby’s personality. His standout song ‘EXCALIBUR’ is a vigorous theme of guitar riffs, energetic drumming, and a contagious chorus. With his combination of punk with pop, Ruby revisits his roots when he previously played in different bands influenced by The Misfits, Minor Threat, and Leftöver Crack.
The multi-talented artist handles all the vocals and instruments while exploring
new sounds and narratives outside of the $uicideboy$. In 2023, Ruby and his cousin $crim attained incredible success as the $uicideboy$, giving out a significant amount of music including six $uicideboy$ projects, and Ruby’s first DUCKBOY EP ‘tragic love songs to study to (vol. 5)’. Their year of touring included the fifth of their fan-favorite series ‘I No Longer Fear The Razor Guarding My Heel’ which is a four-part EP series titled the ‘Yin Yang Tapes’ with joint projects from G59 Record$ labelmates Shakewell and Germ. Since joining forces, $uicideboy$ has released countless projects, played hundreds of sold-out shows, and has earned multiple RIAA certifications including the platinum: ‘… And To Those I Love, Thanks For Sticking Around’ and for gold: ‘Carrollton’, ‘2nd Hand’, ‘Runnin’ Thru The 7th With My Woadies’, ‘Paris’, and ‘Kill Yourself (Part III)’ In 2024, the $uicideboy$ will extend their Grey Day Tour overseas with shows in Australia and New Zealand and reaching across Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. In addition, the group is a top act in the Rolling Loud Festival 2024 in Los Angeles from March 15-17th.
