Nothing More is a rock band from San Antonio, Texas, led by Jonny Hawkins. They recently performed at a sold-out show at The National in Richmond, Virginia. The night started with great opening acts: Set It Off, From Ashes to New, and Post Profit, who really got the crowd pumped up. Mosh pits formed for every band, and everyone was excited to rock out.
I saw Set It Off for the first time, and I was impressed by their energy. They really connected with the audience, which set the stage perfectly for Nothing More.
When Nothing More took the stage, they kicked off with their hit song “House of Sand.” It was an awesome choice to get everyone hyped. Later on, during “Don’t Stop,” Jonny invited Matt Jackson from Post Profit to join him on stage for some backup vocals. It was a great lead-in to “Go To War” and “Let ‘em Burn,” which are two of my personal favorites.
The crowd went wild for “Freefall,” a popular track from their latest album, *Carnal*. They continued with more hits like “Existential Dread,” “Stuck,” “Fade In/Fade Out,” and “Jenny.” Before playing “Jenny,” Jonny shared that it was about his relationship with his sister, which made this song feel more intimate.
The night ended on a high note with “This is The Time.” Jonny jumped onto the barricade with two drums, letting fans hold them while he played. It was an amazing moment and a perfect way to wrap up the evening.
If you have a chance to see Nothing More live, I highly recommend it. This show is definitely one of the best I’ve attended. Be sure to catch them on their Carnal Tour across North America!
