Seven-year veteran K-Pop group, NCT127, has their sights set on America once again with the announcement of their Neo City: The Momentum Tour! The tour kicked off in Seoul hosting a two-night stay in their home country, and then visiting Jakarta and Bangkok for two nights each before finally landing in the west kick-off in Duluth, Georgia on February 28th!
NCT127 is one of five subunits that live under the umbrella of NCT (short for Neo Culture Technology). They made their debut as the second official subunit in 2016 with their highly popular debut single FIRETRUCK. NCT127 (which usually consists of eight members however leader Taeyong and member Jaehyun are currently fulfilling their mandated military enlistment) will travel with their six active members Johnny, Doyoung, Yuta, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan. We will also be seeing two of the six-member group get hometown shows, Mark Lee who hails from Toronto, Canada, and Johnny Suh who came to South Korea from Chicago, Illinois!
This will not be 127’s first step on American soil as a team. Their earliest visit being in 2019 with their Neo City: The Origin tour and most recently NCTzens saw them in their 2023 tour Neo City: The Unity, which they brought to fans twice! All in all, America is no new playgroup for the members of 127 or their fans, touring America a total of 4 times, including Neo City: The Momentum, not including their canceled Neo City: The Awards, which sadly never made it to the US due to COVID.
The eight-member SM Entertainment group recently had a successful comeback with their sixth studio album entitled On The Beat, with title track Walk. The album awarded them a three-time platinum certification in South Korea, selling 750,000 units in the country alone. As well as earning them three coveted music show wins in South Korea as well! This album gave the members a peak at number four on the Billboard World Albums and breaking into the Billboard Top 200! Winning is no new feat to the members of NCT127 winning a total of 112 of 280 awards they’ve been nominated for in their whole career., though the members stay happy and humble each win!
NCT127 also houses five of NCT’s official solo artists! Taeyong was the first neo to have an official solo debut with his hit Shalala in 2023, followed by Mark whose solo debut came in 2024 with his single 200 and will be getting his first solo album in spring 2025, we then have Doyoung with his album Youth that we received in 2024 along with a small fan sign tour, we also were given Yuta’s solo Depth giving us a whole new vibe from past NCT solos by having a rock and rough edge sound to it in also in 2024, and finally, we received Jaehyun’s solo album entitled J which sept fans away with his sultry lyrics and smooth r&b sound in late 2024. With powerhouses like this on their team, it leaves hope from fans that they might receive solo stages this tour like they did for Neo City: The Unity just two years ago!
The tour will hit six cities in North America from the end of February until mid-march, cities and dates include:
