Mk.gee’s milestone was marked as he graced the stage on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for his debut on late night television. The spotlight shone brightly on his track, “Are You Looking Up,” a standout from his debut album, Two Star & the Dream Police.
Since the album’s debut in February, Mk.gee’s been on a creative spree unveiling a series of live performance music videos. In collaboration with director Danica Arias Kleinknecht, these videos delve into the nuanced depths of Two Star & the Dream Police, earning praise and recognition for their immersive portrayal of tracks like, “Dream Police,” “Are You Looking Up,” “Candy” and recent addition, “A Little Bit More.”
This late night debut leads up to Mk.gee’s upcoming headlining tour, set to kick off April 23 along the West Coast. Shortly after his album drop, he disclosed plans for a tour, which includes two sold out nights at iconic venue the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles along with two New York sold out shows at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere and Irving Plaza. Remaining tickets for other nights can be found here: https://www.mkgee.com/
With a distinctive sound refined over three EPs released between 2018 and 2020, Mk.gee ventures into new territory with his debut album. His Musical Journey, intertwined with notable collaborations such as his contributions to Dijon’s acclaimed 2021 album, Absolutely, and performances alongside the likes of Bon Iver and boygenius, shows his evolving sound and musicianship.
