Boston’s Roadrunner was electrified with a blend of punk rock when Microwave took the stage supported by Heart Attack Man and Origami Angel on June 7, 2024.
Kickstarting the evening was Heart Attack Man, who’s high-octane performance set the tone for the rest of the night. They drew the audience in with their gritty vocals and infectious riffs, keeping the crowd engaged throughout their entire set.
With their blend of emo and math rock, Origami Angel enthralled the audience. Ryland’s intricate guitar work and relatable lyrics struck a chord with the crowd. Despite being relatively new to the scene and consisting of only two members, Origami Angel left a lasting impression on Boston that night.
Closing out the evening with a dynamic performance was American rock band, Microwave. With their notable blend of emo, hardcore and alternative rock, they delivered a set that was equal parts intense and introspective. From the haunting melodies of their slower tracks to their frantic energy of their heavier songs, Microwave kept the audience on their toes.
Overall, Roadrunner saw a night of bands bringing their a-game and making waves. Each band delivered performances that were as powerful as they were passionate and left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
