On February 9th, 2024, the Mission Ballroom in Denver, Colorado, was ablaze with excitement as three musical acts took the stage, captivating the audience with their talent and energy.
The night kicked off with the soulful sounds of Josh Fudge, a singer-songwriter from Oklahoma City. Fudge’s heartfelt performance resonated with the crowd, setting the perfect mood for the evening. Following him, The Palms, an indie-pop group from California, took the stage with their melodies and upbeat tunes, further energizing the audience and setting them for the main event.
As anticipation reached its peak, Magic City Hippies burst onto the stage, ready to deliver an unforgettable performance. Formerly known as the Robby Hunter Band, the Miami-based group brought their unique blend of funk and indie-pop to Denver. With Robby Hunter (lead guitar/vocals), supported by Pat Howard (drums), Gullermo Belisario (bass), Jake Pinto (keys/guitar), John Franco (guitar), and Michael Fatum (trumpet), the band wasted no time in captivating the crowd.
Throughout their set, Magic City Hippies treated the audience to a lively mix of their most known tracks, including ‘Indiana’, ‘Queen’, ‘Diamond’, ‘Que Paso’, and ‘Spf’ as well as a new, unreleased song. The energy in the room was electric, with fans dancing, singing along, and even a band member attempting to crowd surf in the excitement of the moment.
Magic City Hippies’ infectious enthusiasm and genuine connection with the audience brought the Mission Ballroom into a vibrant sea of music and motion. As the final notes played through the venue, it was clear that the night would be remembered as a highlight, with Magic City Hippies leaving a mark on all who were fortunate enough to be in attendance.
