On July 12 and 13, the Marshfield Fairgrounds once again transformed into a vibrant carnival of sound, art and community as the Levitate Music and Arts Festival returned for its 13th year. Over two sun soaked days, crowds gathered for locally rooted creativity and performances featuring the likes of Stick Figure and The Elovaters. One of the weekend’s more powerful moments came from Boston born funk rock band Ripe, who returned to the stage just weeks after a serious accident and they weren’t sure playing the festival was going to be in the cards for them.

Stick Figure delivered one of the most anticipated sets of the weekend, closing out Saturday night with their signature blend of roots reggae and feel good energy but I think the real star of the weekend was Cocoa the Tour dog who happened to be celebrating her 14th birthday that day. Other incredible performances from the weekend included bands like The Revivalists, The Elovaters, Dispatch and Thundercats.

Beyond the music, Levitate once again proved itself as more than a music festival. Local artists, food trucks, muralists and community partners turned the ground into a living art installation. Interactive installations and hands-on art zones invited all ages to participate. True to its name, Levitate didn;t just celebrate music, it lifted up the full spectrum of creative expression.

Although the weekend went from it’s usual three days to only two this year, the festival’s soul remains firmly rooted in Marshfields creative spirit. With its thoughtful curation, family friendly atmosphere and unmistakably homegrown vibe, Levitate 2025 reminded us why its one of New Englands most beloved summer rituals.
