Drawing inspiration from Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elmstreet 3: Dream Warriors, Toronto based rapper JUGGER releases his latest music video “NIGHTMARE,” directed by Marcus Letts and starring models Kiki and Lola.
The incorporation of JUGGER’s song “Chrome” at the beginning of the video while the pair read magazines and dance on their bed sets the stage for a sudden shift in vibes, leading into a dreamlike sequence of hallucinations reminiscent of Freddy Krueger’s haunting tactics. Marcus Letts mimics the classic scene where Freddy Krueger terrorizes the dreams of an aspiring actress at Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital. As one of the twins walks up to the t.v. full of curiosity, she suddenly gets sucked in by a mysterious figure with half of her body left hanging out for her twin sister to find.
The collaboration with Nicolas Neubert to produce an AI video trailer for “NIGHTMARE” adds another innovative dimension to the project. They screened the fabricated trailer in movie theaters before horror films on Halloween weekend in Toronto – a smart move to reach the target audience and create anticipation for the album. It’s impressive to see how JUGGER’s vision extends beyond music into also creating immersive cinematic experiences.
Overall, it seems like JUGGER is constantly pushing the boundaries by blending his passion for sinister cinema with his dark, twisted lyricism, resulting in visually captivating and nightmare-inducing music video experiences.
