Emerging pop-star Emei dropped her latest single, “RABBITHOLE,” on August 23 marking a fresh sonic direction with producer Boy Blue (known for his work with Flyana Boss and Suki Waterhouse). This new release hints at an exciting future with more innovative music on the horizon.
Emei describes “RABBITHOLE” as a musical dive into the sensations of falling, panic and racing thoughts. She elaborates, “We play with whimsical magical touches and racing sounds and all sorts of breakdowns. It touches upon how even though I’ve tried mantras and affirmations and breathing exercises, it often just makes me fall deeper and deeper down into the rabbithole.”
Riding the wave of success from her debut album, SCATTERBRAIN, which garnered 70 million streams on Spotify and acclaim from Billboard, People and Ones to Watch, “RABBITHOLE” showcases Emei’s continued poignant lyricism and cements her status as a rising star in the contemporary pop scene.
Emei began the year with a series of sold-out shows across Europe and at cherished venues in major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles’s El Rey Theater and New York’s Gramercy Theater. More dates start this fall in the following markets:
