On a balmy summer evening, Boston, Massachusetts had an Australian progressive metal-core takeover when Northlane brought their Mirror’s Edge Tour to the Paradise Rock Club stage. Supporting the headliners were Windwaker, Thornhill and Invent Animate (only ones not from Australia).
Windwaker kicked off the night with a burst of energy. They were the perfect start to showcase what the evening had in store. Thornhill followed suit, with an equally powerful performance creating an atmosphere that was both haunting and exhilarating. Invent Animate was the last supporting act to take the stage, delivering a masterclass in technical proficiency and raw emotion.
When it was time for Northlane to take the stage they were greeted by a sea of roaring fans who were eagerly awaiting their arrival. From the moment they launched into, “Carbonized,” it was clear they were here to give us a show to remember. Newer tracks like, “Mirror’s Edge,” and “Afterimage,” blended seamlessly with other favorites like, “Bloodline” and “Clockwork.” Northlanes stage production complimented the music perfectly, their dynamic lighting enhancing the atmospheric journey the band took the audience on.
All in all, each band delivered their own unique performances and left everyone in the audience speechless and eagerly anticipating the next time they grace the stages of Boston.
