Beneath the iconic Los Angeles sky, Haiden Henderson finishes the North American leg of the Tension Tour in the Moroccan Lounge. From traveling all across the U.S., Henderson brings a grand finale of his tour home to L.A. The fans in Los Angeles are some of his most loyal and long-standing listeners, bringing new energy to the show.
The night began with Braden Bales opening, lifting the whole room up with his enthusiasm. He brought humor and satire into his set with a grand entrance and several stories to preface his songs. Bales created a safe space where the whole audience was engaged with his storytelling and incredible live performance. He ended the set with a rousing performance of “Chronically Cautious,” which had the whole audience up on their feet.
As Bales leaves the stage, Henderson enters with a passion unlike any other. True to the title of his tour, he starts his night with a performance of “Tension.” The audience instantly responds and rises to the occasion. Every soul in the Moroccan Lounge is glued to the stage, cheering and jumping along with Henderson as he takes them through the rest of the album. “Lovesucker,” “sweat,” and “lips” were performed to perfection. Henderson made sure to take all of the energy in the room and bring it to a new level.
Henderson took time during the show to dedicate his success to his fans. He was intentional in letting the audience know that their support was deeply appreciated. In the middle of the night, Henderson walked into the crowd and performed a song from the middle of the crowd. Illuminated by only phone flashlights, he sang a ballad to the eager crowd. The song, “Killed the kid,” was dedicated to Henderson’s fans and the “unfathomable impact” it had on them.
The whole show was an incredible spectacle to watch. Henderson effortlessly transitioned between hard punk to sultry seduction. His performance was off the charts, and his interaction with the fans was sweet and intimate. Henderson takes time with his fans, bringing them into his world of music and giving them a space to be free of burden. Between pop songs like “Love Sucker” and the heaviness of “One Track Mind,” Henderson shows his dynamic range with love and care in his heart.
After the final North American show, Henderson now begins his Europe tour. He is a wonder on the stage and an incredible live performer. If you do not have tickets to see him live, you would be missing out on an experience like no other.
