BE:FIRST makes a glorious entrance onto L.A.’s stage. Their first world tour starts with a bang in The Novo. All seven members enter the stage to waiting fans and begin their concert with an unmatchable energy.
BE:FIRST is a Japanese boy group formed in 2021. They are known for their incredible dance skills and high production music videos. The name “BE:FIRST” was created for the goal of always reaching the top, always achieving the best, and always pushing the limits of what music can do. One of the standout features of BE:FIRST is their focus on dance. All of the members are highly skilled dancers, and their performances often involve complex, synchronized routines. Their dance skills are seen as some of the best in the industry, even in comparison to some K-pop groups. Unlike many J-Pop groups, BE:FIRST does not have a set leader position. All seven members have their own chance to lead the group in their own way, whether through dance, vocals, or rap. These members shine both as individuals and as a collective team. The chemistry they have on the stage is unlike anything L.A. has seen before.
From their debut, BE:FIRST has broken records in Japan. Their debut single “Shining One” topped various Japanese charts and even earned them a prestigious spot in Japan’s Oricon charts. Their ability to break through so quickly and gain attention not only in Japan but abroad speaks to their potential to make a lasting impact on the global music scene. From Japan to the world, BE:FIRST has brought international attention to themselves in the best way.
The night started off strong with a performance of “Boom Boom Back” and “Masterplan.” BE:FIRST’s affinity for intense choreography shone on the stage. The audience was fully invested and shouted their praise for the members. They continued to perform vocal and dance-centered songs. Their rap ability was on full display with a special performance by Ryoki, Shunto, and Sota. Dance is where all the members shine the brightest. Their clean and sharp moves are out of this world, and every single one of the members had a moment center stage to show off. All of the performances were paired with intense cyber-themed visuals on the LED screen, which brought the fans into BE:FIRST’s world.
The crowd was able to join in on the performance when BE:FIRST performed their hit single “Sailing.” Everyone joined in on the chorus as the words played on the screen. Many fans from the barricade to the back of the house were jumping and dancing along with the members.
Throughout the night, BE:FIRST made sure their fans (named BESTY) were having fun. Each member addressed the audience and greeted them with enthusiasm. Many of the members had attended the Coachella festival and recounted the event to share with the fans. Every single member made a point to speak directly to BESTYs, making the atmosphere a more intimate concert experience at The Novo.
What makes BE:FIRST special is their combination of raw talent, versatility, and a deep connection with their fans. The group has become a symbol of what’s possible when training, passion, and dedication come together. They’ve carved out a unique niche in the competitive J-pop landscape by blending contemporary genres with their performances and storytelling, and by staying true to the authenticity of their individual skills.
