Storefront Church, the musical project of Lukas Frank, continues to build anticipation for his upcoming album, Ink & Oil, scheduled to debut on June 28th. The latest single, “Melting Mirror,” exudes a theatrical and blustering energy, adding to the collection of impressive tracks revealed so far. New Noise Magazine praised his single, “The High Room,” as “epic in scope and gorgeous in its melody.”
To celebrate the album release, Storefront Church will perform a special hometown show in Los Angeles at The Masonic Lodge at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on June 28th, with Maria BC as support. Tickets are available now and more details can be found on the official ticketing site. Fans can also catch a glimpse of Storefront Church’s live through a recently shared live performance of, “The High Room,” at the Lodge Room.
Ink & Oil is a 12-track album, meticulously produced, written and performed by Lukas Frank, featuring a full live orchestra. Co-arranged with Travis Warner, the album promises a lush, cinematic experience. The concept for the project draws from Lukas’ enigmatic family history, specifically his great uncle Roger Frank, who disappeared mysteriously from a prison cell in 1993, leaving only an orange behind. This story has haunted Lukas since childhood, with recurring nightmares featuring his uncle trying to communicate, mouth immobilized, and holding an orange inscribed with words in black ink.
For those eager to dive into this hauntingly beautiful world Lukas created, the release show and the full album promise to deliver an unforgettable experience.
