On April 20th, Beach Weather brought their Pineapple Sunrise Tour to Tulips FTW in Fort Worth with openers Rec Hall and almost monday. Rec Hall was the first to take the stage, delivering a charismatic and captivating performance. Hailing from Southern California, this indie band’s music exudes a beachy vibe, making them an ideal opener for Beach Weather. Followed by Rec Hall’s performance, almost monday made their entrance ready to put on an energetic performance. Similar to Rec Hall, almost monday originates from California. Their music incorporates sunny melodies, laid-back rhythms, and catchy hooks. Like the perfect puzzle piece, almost monday fits right into the Pineapple Sunrise Tour lineup.
After much anticipation and some technical difficulties, Beach Weather finally made their appearance with an exhilarating performance of “Chit Chat” followed by “Pineapple Sunrise” the title track of the album the tour is named after. The setlist was thoughtfully curated with a mix of their classics, older tracks, and newer releases. From singing along to dancing around, the audience was completely immersed in their performance. The band does a splendid job at interacting with the crowd and making sure everyone was enjoying their time. During the show, Nick Santino, the band’s lead singer, spontaneously picked up a fan’s phone and together with Sean and Reeve, engaged in a Facetime conversation with another fan. Their interactions with the fans made this show an intimate experience for all.
Towards the end of the show, the band expressed their genuine gratitude for all the support and introduced their last song “Sex, Drugs, Etc.” The song was released in 2016 in Beach Weather’s EP Chit Chat, but it recently garnered new attention as it went viral on Tiktok in 2022. The track went on to be certified platinum following its release on their debut full-length album, Pineapple Sunrise. “Sex, Drugs, Etc.” is an anthem for those who prefer the low-key and quiet life. The audience’s adoration for the song was evident, their voices echoing throughout the venue as they sang along to every lyric, providing a flawless conclusion to the show.
Although it was raining all day in Fort Worth, Beach Weather, along with their openers Rec Hall and almost monday, transported everyone in the venue to a warm, sunny day for a few hours. There are a few more stops left on their tour, so don’t miss your chance to see this stellar show.
